CODE OF CONDUCT AND CONDITION OF PARTICIPATION

General Stadium Rules

A condition of registration with the Female Futsal League is that players are to comply with the Code of Conduct and Condition of Participation that is outlined below.

  • .Female Futsal League is strictly females only.
  • .All training and games will include female staff, referees, players, and spectators. Under no circumstances will any male attend a training session or spectate during games. No male parent, siblings, uncles, nephews, grandpas, partners, or any other male are allowed to attend any Afifa Female Futsal Academy training sessions or league games.
  • .Boys aged 7 years old or under are exempt from the above rule and may attend training sessions and game alongside their siblings, mum, aunts etc.
  • .To maintain the privacy of players and staff, Players are prohibited from using electronic devices to take photographs of any other players or staff during the course of training sessions and league games.
  • .Members are to be respectful of others and
  • .No food or drink in the stadium other than water
  • .Children are not to be left unattended in the areas surrounding the stadium
  • .All members need to make sure they do not leave any belonging behind and must clean after themselves.

Communication Policy

  • Electronic devices
  • .Electronic devices are essential for sharing stadium news, and information with our members.
  • .The League will implement measures to protect participants’ personal information, maintain clear boundaries and ensure that bullying and harassment do not occur.
  • Website
  • .Our website will include current information on competition, upcoming events, tournaments, rules and relevant documentation for registration.
  • .No offensive content or photos of players playing or training will be published.
  • .We will seek feedback from members to improve the information available on the site.
  • Social Media Websites
  • .We treat all social media posting, blogs, status updates and tweets as public ‘comment’.
  • .With the consent of players, the only photo/s will be published on both social media and website is during presentation where female Muslim players are covered.
  • .No statement will be made that are misleading, false or likely to damage a person’s reputation.
  • .No statement will be made that are misleading, false or likely to damage a person’s reputation.
  • .No statements will be made that might bring our league into disrepute.
  • .Abusive, discriminatory, intimidating or offensive statements will not be tolerated.
  • .Offending posts will be removed and those responsible will be blocked from the site.
  • SMS and Email
  • .SMS messages will be short and only sent to team captains
  • .Email communication will be used when more information is required

Due to Muslim females’ religious obligation to cover their hair and body, the following are not permitted

  • .Taking photos and/or video recordings are not permitted when training or partaking in a competition.
  • .All phones must be switched off or put on silent during training and competition.
  • .Members should respect and maintain the privacy of other members.

Fees and Registration

Junior League
Registration /Match Fees for both Junior and Women Social League
  • .The team captain is responsible for organising that all registered players pay their full registration and match fees just before the end of registration date.
  • .This applies to the Women league. As for the junior league the parents/guardian are responsible that payment is made before the end of registration date.
  • .Registration fees and match fees are non-refundable.
  • .All payments will be completed online.
  • .Players are only allowed to play for ONE team on ONE competition night at Female Futsal League. Dual registration (the practice of having players registered for a Division A and B team) is not allowed under any circumstances.
  • .Player Registration Restriction: No player is allowed to participate for more than one team if the player is already registered with another team in a separate competition on a competition night. (Exception: A player has been approved to fill-in for another team that is genuinely short on players. I.e., the team only has 3 or 4 players available on court for a competition fixture.
For example, if Manal, as a registered player, plays in the Women Social League at Female Futsal League on a Friday night for her team, Manal cannot play for another team in the Women Social League at a different Futsal League on the same competition night unless the team is genuinely short of players.
  • .Players who are (fill-in) for a team and are registered with another team in the same league or competition night you are expected to play the entire duration of the match. Note: Unless you are injured whilst participating or just assisting until a latecomer arrives you must complete the match. Common sense should prevail at all times and if in doubt please speak to the Competition Administrator. Nonetheless, we ask that all participants keep the values of sportsmanship and integrity of your competition in mind.
  • .In addition to the above, players are only allowed to fill-in for ONE MATCH for a particular team in competition season. If played more than one game the player would essentially become a regular player for the respective team and logically the Rules of Competition maintain applicable. This rule exit to prevent the practice of “floating” and un-registered player who participate in various teams in respective divisions and subsequently act against the spirit of the rules.
Team captain – Women Social League
  • .A team captain must be nominated on the team registration form.
  • .In the event of a forfeit or any correspondence, the team captain will be contacted by the league operator.
  • .It will be the responsibility of the team captain to convey all correspondence onto their team players.
Junior League
  • .Parent /guardian are encouraged to assist their daughter/s to register online.
  • .Parent / guardian are responsible to make sure their daughter/s to wear the correct attire.
  • .Parent / guardian should make sure their daughter/s come 10 minutes prior to their game.
  • .It is the responsibility of the parent/ guardian to convey all correspondence onto their daughter/s

In order for the transfer to be considered valid, the following item must be provided in full

  • .Player’s full name;
  • .Player’s current team;
  • .Player’s proposed/new team;
  • .Player’s contact number- mobile preferable;
  • .Player’s email address;
  • .Player’s postal address;
  • .Player’s date of birth;
  • .Reason for transfer;

NOTE: Match fees will cover the cost of the venue and referee.

Players transfer during competition season

A player may transfer from one team to another team only ONCE during the competition season on a respective competition night. In order to conduct a valid transfer, the team acquiring the player must submit a written request (via email) for permission at least 48 hours PRIOR to an upcoming fixture involving the proposed new team. Outcomes will be provided in writing as soon as practical.

Any team that uses a player that is registered for another team on the same competition night will have their result subject to a forfeit loss and possibly face further disciplinary action.

League Fixture

  • .The times which games are fixtured should be determined by the league operator.
  • .The league fixture will be on the website.
  • .The time and date of matched are fixed for the whole season, there will be no changes to the fixture during the competition.
  • .Teams need to be on time to ensure that all teams have a full game. Failure to be on the court within 1 minute of the fixture time will result in a 1 goal penalty and will repeat every 1 minute.
  • .Teams who have members who are running late must take the court when they have a minimum of 3 players so that the referee can start the game and avoid any goal penalty.
  • .Time may be reduced if teams are late which include late signing on team sheet.

Forfeit

  • .There will be no refunds for match fees paid when your team misses a game due to a forfeit.
  • .A team that loses on forfeit will not receive any league points, and the team that wins on forfeit will receive 3 league points and 5 goals for that team plays a scratch math organised by the league operator.
  • .If 3 or more games are forfeited throughout the season, the team will not be allowed to register for the next season’s competition unless a vacancy still exists after all other expressions of interest are placed.

Withdrawal from the league

A team CANNOT withdraw their team from the league, they must see through the entire season and registration fees and match fees are non-refundable.

Note: forfeits not only disrupts the running of the competition, but also disappoint other teams that look forward to their weekly game of futsal.

Team Uniform

  • .All team members must purchase their uniform from Female Futsal League merchandise online 3 weeks prior to commencement of season to organise uniforms before penalties apply. The uniform includes: sports jerseys. Shorts, socks. 
  • .All team members except the goalkeeper must wear the required team uniform in the form of the jersey, socks and shorts issued by FFL. Players are not permitted to wear non-FFL merchandise.
  • .Players must have a visible number on the back of their shirt at least 20 cm high and either printed or ironed on. Numbers cannot be drawn or taped onto shirt.
  • .All players must wear a permanent shirt number on the back of their shirt for the entire season.
  • .Jewellery is not part of uniform and is not to be worn during game.
  • .Remember that children learn best by example. Appreciate good performances and skilful plays by all participants.
  • .Players cannot take the court if they have the incorrect uniform and wearing of jewellery until the team member removes the item to commence playing.
  • .Tight leggings are allowed to be worn under short but need to be same colour of uniform.
  • .No tracksuits pants are to be worn except the goalkeeper.
  • .Only religious head piece, under scarf or bennies are permitted during play. Hats or caps are not permitted during play.
  • .Goalkeepers who become general field players are to change to the team’s uniform.
  • .All fill players are still required to wear the team uniform. The team captain must make sure all players wear the required uniform to avoid penalties against them.
  • .All players must wear shin pads and long socks to cover shin pad.
  • .All players must wear runners or futsal shoes. No studs or spike are permitted.
  • .Singlet and tops without sleeves are not permitted.
  • .Players are permitted to wear sports goggles or sports glasses as long as in the referee’s opinion, the glasses pose no danger to the player wearing the glasses or any other player on the court.
  • .No player may use equipment that is of danger to herself or another player. Players wearing a ‘soft cast’ or a ‘soft protection guard’ may be permitted to play if the cast does not present a danger to the individual or any other player. the rule is the appointed referee will apply if presented with such circumstances is to gauge: does the guard applied feel like an arm? The appointed referee will make the final decision as to the acceptability of nay cast. Hard plaster casts are considered to pose a danger to both the wearer and other players and are not permitted to be worn. In some cases the practice of padding a hard plaster cast does not reduce the element of danger and this includes ‘fibreglass casts’.

Players Code of Behaviour

  • .Play by the rules.
  • .Never argue with an official. If you disagree, have your captain, coach or manager approach the official during a break or after the match.
  • .Control your temper. Verbal abuse of officials and sledging other players, deliberately distracting or provoking an opponent are not acceptable or permitted behaviours in any sport.
  • .Work equally hard for yourself and/or your team. Your team’s performance will benefit, so will you.
  • .Be a good sport. Applaud all good plays whether they are made by your team or the opposition.
  • .Treat all participants in your sport as you like to be treated. Do not bully or take unfair advantage of another competitor.
  • .Cooperate with your coach, team mates and opponents. Without them there would be no competition.
  • .Participate for your enjoyment and benefit, not just to please parents and coaches.
  • .Disrespect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.

Coaches Code of Behaviour

  • .Remember that young people participate for pleasure and winning is only part of the fun.
  • .Never ridicule or yell at a young player for making a mistake or not coming first.
  • .Be reasonable in your demands on players’ time, energy and enthusiasm.
  • .Operate within the rules and spirit of the sport and teach your players to do the same.
  • .Ensure that the time players spend with you is a positive experience. All young people are deserving of equal attention and opportunities.
  • .Avoid overplaying the talented player; the just average need and deserve equal time.
  • .Display control, respect and professionalism to all involved with the sport. This includes opponents, coaches, officials, administrations, parents and spectators. Encourage your players to do the same.
  • .Show concern and caution towards sick and injured players. Follow the advice of a physician when determining whether an injured player is ready to recommence training or competition.
  • .Obtain appropriate qualifications and keep up to date with the latest coaching practices and the principles of growth and development of young people.
  • .Any physical contact with a young person should be appropriate to the situation.
  • .Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.

Parents/Spectators Code of Behaviour

  • .Remember that children participate in sport for their enjoyment not yours.
  • .Encourage children to participate do not force them.
  • .Focus on the child’s efforts and performance rather than winning or losing.
  • .Encourage children always to play according to the rules and to settle disagreements without resorting to hostility or violence.
  • .Never ridicule or yell at a child for making a mistake or losing a match.
  • .Remember that children learn best by example. Appreciate good performances and skilful plays by all participants.
  • .Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from sporting activities.
  • .Respect official’s decisions and teach children to do likewise.
  • .Condemn the use of violence in any form, whether it is by spectators, coaches, officials or players.
  • .Show respect for your team’s opponents without them there would be no game.
  • .Do not use foul language, sledge or harass players, coaches or officials.
  • .Applaud good performance and efforts from all individuals and teams. Congratulate participants on their performance regardless of the game’s outcome.
