Playing and coaching soccer has been a passion of mine for as long I can remember. My decision to retire early from soccer was a difficult decision to make. Fortunately, my decision has spearheaded my desire to create an exclusive all female futsal league and academy. The establishment of the Female Futsal League and Afifa Futsal Academy arose out of my desire to work with females to build their self-esteem, resilience and love for the game of futsal. In recognition of the cultural and religious restrictions that are placed on females, the league and academy are devoted to creating an environment where females are free to engage in this sport in a safe female exclusive environment.
Credentials
- Bachelor of Education with a Major in Physical Education;
- Double Diploma in Sports Development and Sport Recreation;
- Certificate III and IV in Fitness; and
- Certificate of Psychology from an Islamic perspective.
Fatma Saad
[ Account Manager and Coach ]
Soccer has always been a passion of mine. I played soccer for 4 years and coached junior girls for 2 years; both were an amazing experience. Similarly to Afifa, I made the difficult decision to retire from soccer.My decision to retire early from soccer was a difficult decision to make, but it was one that I do not regret. I believe this decision allowed me to focus on other aspects of life, including my work as a full-time accountant.
With the establishment of the Female Futsal League, I am now fortunate enough to implement my love of the game and teach younger females all about soccer. In stating that, I am very excited to be apart of a community where females are celebrated – let the fun begin!
